TOGETHER

During my hike in Bhutan , which was weeks in the mountains, We stopped at a particular Monastery, a description of which is for a later  time. We were all members of of the Sierra Club from different walks of life. T'sem was our guide , dressed in a typical Bhutanese robe. This tree was in the Monastery's yard. It had been planted as a sapling years before by Indira Gandhi daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru. The tree was to symbolize an association with Bhutan but also togetherness of all peoples, which was why we joined hands around the tree. In today's tribal politics we could learn a lesson from working jointly for common goals instead of digging heels in and believing compromise to be obscene.
